Day Care Activities

Our tailored approach incorporates a diverse range of physical and mental stimulation activities to provide an enriching environment for every dog.

Find the Treat

Uses a dog's natural foraging instincts and encourages healthy sniffing behaviours. This game is great for improving a dog's problem-solving skills.

Group Playtime

Dog's socialise with each other and engage in physical play activities. This helps them to learn how to behave around other dogs, increase their confidence, and gain plentiful amounts of exercise.

1 to 1 Playtime

Most dogs need at least 30 minutes of mental stimulation each day, but some breeds like Border Collies need more.
We provide one-to-one solo play sessions to ensure every dog gets just the right amount of stimulation they need.

Group Swimming

Dogs have a natural instinct for swimming.
THE BARK PARK is fortunate to have its own access to the River Calder, where dogs in small groups can swim and play together.

It's all about stimulation. And fun.

At THE BARK PARK, we believe in enriching each dog’s day care experience with mental and physical stimulation sessions that not only enhance their overall mood and mental well-being but also cater to their unique needs and abilities.

Socialisation with other dogs

Passed down through their DNA over tens of thousands of years, dogs are born with a variety of natural instincts including sniffing, swimming, digging, and the need to socialise with others in their pack.

Without the natural stimulation they need,

dogs can develop some problematic behavioural issues such as:

Destructive behaviour,
such as chewing up toys or furniture

Overexcitement,
such as excessive panting, barking, jumping up, etc.

Depression / Anxiety,
such as changes to their eating habits or decreased interest in their usual activities

Disobedience

such as being unresponsive to your commands

But with the natural stimulation they need,

dogs can reap the numerous benefits that come with a healthy, active lifestyle, such as:

Improvement to cognitive functions
such as an improved responsiveness to basic training

Reduction in hyperactivity
dogs burn off energy with natural stimulation

Confidence boost

reduction in anxiety with people and other animals

Increased well-being
resulting in a more relaxed, but happy, dog.
